General Terms and Conditions swissrent

Scope of application

The following General Terms and Conditions apply between swissrent group AG (hereinafter referred to as swissrent) and the Customer (hereinafter referred to as the Customer). They are restricted to reservations for rental equipment made and paid for online.

Online rental

Customers who rent and pay for their rental equipment online receive immediate confirmation via e-mail.

Prices

The prices published by each swissrent rental partner (hereafter called "Lessor") apply. For booking/paying online, the rental price must be paid by credit card/Postcard. The prices include all statutory taxes and charges.

Insurance

The renter is solely responsible for all insurance such as liability, breakage, defective material, theft etc. swissrent is excluded from all insurance policies. In agreement with the renter, swissrent will charge, on behalf of the lessor, an additional fee of 10% of the total rental cost for coverage of breakage and theft. Grossly negligent damages are excluded from this.

Cancellation

swissrent is to be informed of a cancellation either by phone or in writing, at the latest, 24 hours prior to the expected arrival date.

The renter has the option of locking in a 5% cancellation guaranty. In case of a cancellation, the cancellation guarantee of 5% will not be refunded. If no cancellation guaranty is agreed to, the renter will be charged, in the case of a cancellation, an administrative fee of 10% of the total cost of the online booking.

For both options, the difference will be refunded by reimbursing the renter's credit card, provided the cancellation is received at the latest, 24 hours in advance. Should the cancellation be received after this point or the renter does not pick up the rental items at the agreed upon time, the full rental price will be charged.

Claims

Claims of any kind relating to a reservation must be addressed to swissrent in writing immediately upon receipt of the booking confirmation. In the event of later claims, the Customer shall bear the full loss resulting therefrom.

Extended benefits

Additional services, like changing to a higher category, additional rental equipment etc, can be arranged solely with the respective lessor on site.

Collection and return of the rental equipment

The Customer shall collect the equipment on the first day of rental from the rental agent specified on the booking confirmation. Upon request, the equipment may be collected after 15:30 on the day before the first day of rental. The equipment must be returned before the close of business on the last day of the agreed rental period. In the event of longer usage of the equipment, the difference between the rental term paid for and the period for which the equipment was actually used shall be charged, under the normal rental terms that apply locally. This sum is to be paid directly at the location.

Deposit guarantee

Identity card, passport, driver’s license or credit card shall be acceptable as a deposit guarantee.

Data protection

swissrent is obligated to use the collected data only for its above-stated purposes and passed on solely to the lessor and not to third parties.

If you want to receive the newsletter that is offered on the website, we will need your email address as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the aforementioned email address and that you agree with receiving the newsletter.

To guarantee a consensual newsletter forwarding, we use the so-called double opt-in process, during the course of which the potential recipient can be added to an electronic distribution list. Afterwards, the user will be able to legally agree to the registration via a confirmation email. The address will only be actively added to the electronic distribution list after registration is completed.

We will only use this data to send the requested information and offers.

Mailchimp is the applied newsletter software. Your data is sent to the company Mailchimp during this process. Mailchimp may not sell your data or use it for other purposes than for sending newsletters. Mailchimp is a certified provider that was chosen according to the requirements for data privacy.

The granted approval for the storage of data, the email address, as well as their use for sending the newsletter can be revoked at any point via the "Unsubscribe" link in the newsletter.

privacy policies.

Changes to this data protection declaration

swissrent may amend this data protection declaration at any time. Any changes will be reported here.

Encrypted data transfer

Your personal data (name, address and phone number) as well as bank or credit card information are protected against unauthorised access through the use of “Secure Socket Layer” (SSL) encryption.

By clicking on the right mouse button, you can ensure that your data is encrypted on the relevant pages. The degree of encryption can be checked by selecting “Properties” under “Connection” on the menu. Furthermore, double click on the lock displayed in the lower formatting menu of your Internet software (browser) to check the level of encryption.

Liability

swissrent is not a contractual party of the leasing agreement. For all claims affecting the rental equipment that arise due to theft, damage, ski and snowboard accidents or similar incidents, the respective lessor is solely liable.

Applicable law and court of jurisdiction

Swiss law shall apply for these General Booking Terms. Sole court of jurisdiction is Landquart. swissrent reserves the right to prosecute the Customer at the location of its registered office or place of residence or before any other appropriate court or competent authorities.

Terms and conditions “mountainmiles”

With it’s new App, swissrent consolidates it’s role as an innovative pioneer in the field of mountain sports rental

.

swissrent is taking a new approach, especially with the “mountainmiles” tracking system. Here you can convert your own activity into points or “mountainmiles”, calculated by distance and height difference, and thus benefit from rental discounts Online and In-App. The app saves your activity and you are rewarded. Whether for skiing and snowboarding, cross-country skiing, biking, hiking, tobogganing or any other mountain sports activity. The more you move, the more “mountainmiles" points you earn; which can be redeemed at your next swissrent rental purchase. For every 100 “mountainmiles” (160 km) you will be credited with CHF 5.–.

Rules

You need a "my swissrent" account in order to collect points.
Points redeemable only for swissrent rental bookings Online or In-App
A maximum of 15% of the rental price can be paid via redeemed points per booking.
Points can also be used to lease rental items for other people (registered under your "my swissrent" account).
Upon initial registration for the "mountainmiles" tracking system, you will receive a bonus gift card of 200 points (CHF 10.–).
“mountainmiles” do not expire.
Swiss law is applicable. The exclusive jurisdiction is Landquart.
